Paul holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in botany and microbiology from Stephen F. Austin State University. His graduate research emphasized the use of controlled environment techniques that allowed him to statistically
quantify a plant’s ability to defend against plant pathogens. This work was othen used to develop plant breeding programs now in use by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Natural Resource Conservation Service. Paul’s
botanical and controlled environment agriculture expertise merges with his lighting engineering knowledge to assist in developing the right lighting solutions for MaxLite clients. Paul has worked in the horticulture lighting
space for the past 10 years and has delivered solutions for clients globally. His experience with applications includes vertical farming, supplemental greenhouse lighting, cannabis cultivation, and research and development
Dan holds a PhD in LED physics. Prior to joining MaxLite, Dan was principal engineer at Samsung, where he specialized in LED technology. He developed LED chips and was a product manager for the LED components that the horticulture
lighting industry (including MaxLite’s competitors) uses in its fixtures today.
Wes Eaton is MaxLite’s Director of Horticulture Sales and has been directing cultivation facilities in California as a head grower and contracted consultant since 2008. He came to MaxLite from Illumitex and
prior to that he was the agriculture division manager for Hanna Instruments where for many years where he specialized in fertigation and electrochemistry as it relates to cultivation.
Max is a first point of contact for inside sales, lighting photometrics and technical support. He has deep knowledge of the relevant certifications for horticulture lighting and testing, including current baselines for DLC
and other energy standards across the country. Prior to joining the Horticulture division, Max worked with MaxLite’s utility sales team, assisting with residential and commercial lighting rebate programs, supplemental greenhouse
lighting, cannabis cultivation, and research and development applications.
